my room, and myself

So I want to give you a little background on me: This is my room I designed and changed myself about two years ago... you cant see much of it but i miss it! I'm in a dorm room at college, and miss my vintage charm :(
Anyhow, I'm 18 years old and from Minnesota. I find it way too cold in this state. I am really close with my friends, and trust my boyfriend with the world. I enjoy listening to all kinds of music. I like to dance around my room with underwear and a t shirt on (:
I had a horse that I needed to sell, and there is a large part missing in my heart for her.
I am the biggest dreamer and planner you will probably ever meet. hahh
tell me about yourself!

Such a classic.

I came across these pictures and these dresses are made out of two XXL men's t shirts! All you need to do is sew both of the neck lines together, and put the sleeves inside for the bottom and sew the bottoms for pockets (:
I think they are cute, and completely original; i shall be making one soon!

I saw these riding boots at DSW shoes and fell in love! They are Ralph Lauren. I am a horseback rider and have a horse, but these boots bring in both style with the real thing. I like them.

This here, is a boxer dog. I long for the day when I can get my own boxer. He will look like this with an all black face, and his name will be Diesel.

Oh what a joy it is; flickr i mean. I love just browsing through beautiful photographs, thought i'd share a couple.
The second picture has a mens watch in it, and it brings me the point of mens clothing. Something about wearing men's clothing is just so sexy it seem like. I bought a men's watch, it had a black leather band and large round clock. I bought it from china town in nyc, and it turned out to be china town quality... figures. But I also love wearing white long sleeve Ralph Lauren men's polos with leggings. I roll the sleeves up and pair it with a good pair of shoes and some earings. I love the mens look outfits.
I had stumbled upon a photograph from S. Bernstein's blog of a Baracci wedding gown. (her blog is absolutely amazing, you should go check it out) The gown literally took my breath away. I searched the designer on google hoping to find a website with pricings of this wedding dress etc. but there were none to be found. So I searched the designer on ebay and lone and behold, the dress was for sale!! It was originally retailed at 28,000 dollars! First of all, I couldnt wrap my mind around spending that much on a wedding dress but I loved the look!
I decided, just today, that I want to make my own wedding dress. I am a business major at college but with an apparel emphasis; therefor I am required to take sewing and apparel design classes. So I do know how to sew, and I think that it could be amazing. (: I'm not getting married anytime soon. I have been in a relationship for 1 year and 2 months to the man that I want to marry, but I'm following a dream next year and moving to New York.
Although the plan is to stay together through the 3 years I'm away, I hope and pray it will work out. Any advice on that topic? hahh.
Anyways, this probably seems like a long, boring post about nothing; but just some things i've been excited about lately!
much love to you all.

Oh how vintage images always get my mind thinking great things (:
I love everything about walking into an antique shop in hopes of finding that piece that makes your heart fill with warmth and wonder. I just recently bought an owl pin from an antique shop, its wonderous.

Studded.

A large piece of me loves this look. I wish that I could pull off the whole Taylor Momsen rock look. It truely is gorgeous. I try to work little elements of this style into mine, but my style is normally so girlie; vintage and flowery. Thats a goal of mine: To pull off this look.
amen.

This dress I found on the forever21 website and it is only 9.80!
I found these shoes on the elle magazine website for shop chic:
I love them and they dont seem unreasonably priced!
They are $36 dollars from topshop.com
Leggings some gold rings and colorful bangles would make this everyday outfit, extraordinary!!

So you may be wondering, whats up with all the rooms? I thought this was a fashion blog...
Well, I am most likely moving out to nyc this summer and I have a strong strong love for vintage interior design. I stay awake in my bed at night, thinking and planning about what my apartment will look like.
As I'm sure some of you know, it is quite expensive to live in new york city, especially being a college student girl. That cuts down cheaper options like the not so safe neighborhoods.
So:
I know this is a bit far fetched, but I just thought I'd throw it out there and see if I had any takers. I am looking for a roommate or two to share an apartment, most likely designed along these lines. If you know anyone that is looking to move out there, or looking for a roommate, please let me know. I'm a normal girl, I like things clean but clothes sometimes lay on my bedroom floor for a few days, before I get frustrated and pick them up.
I hope you like these pictures; they are design afterall.
Not fashion design, but kinda (:
They took my breath away.

2010; yes this new year

So I understand that this post is a little late; considering today is now the 3rd.
But it has been quite difficult for me to think of New Years Resolutions:
But here they are:
1. Help/ make a change in someones life
2. Pursue my dream of moving to NYC
3. Try harder in school and in my relationship
4. Take more pictures
5. Eat healthier
6. Add to my wardrobe; sophisticated fashionable pieces
This is todays outift.

We are watching Sunday football with family friends and relaxing inside..

good thing because brr... it sure is cold here in Minnesota.

Shirt: Marshalls
Jeans: Express
Shoes: Thrift
Belt: forever 21

Now my latest for the fashion industry. I have been obsessed with The Miss Dior Cherie purfume add. The commercial on tv is also so glamourous and fresh it is like breating in ocean air. I seriously pasted this magazine cutout on every notebook and folder that I own.

I want to buy this perfume for this advertisement.
Now that, my friends, is good marketing (:
Am I just crazy or is this ad amazing?

Hello all (:

My name is Lauren.
I have a newfound love for fashion and would love to share.
I love the little things; details.

Exciting news; My TeenVogue magazine
came in the mail today.

While ripping off the plastic wrapper I realized that
Jessica Szohr was on the cover. Not only is she one of my
favorite actresses on Gossip Girl. I love the outfits in her
photoshoot!

:This picture, from teenvogue, has to be an outfit inspiration of mine one of these days soon. Its elegant but edgy with her ankle boots. She is gorgeous.
